Birthday Cards
Perfect birthday cards are the cards that you want to keep!!! Beautiful, appropriate, and maybe humorous!
The statistic on greeting cards for a birthday gift is that an average person will receive on average three cards.
Know the Do's and Don'ts of giving Birthday Cards.
Comparing cards to a ruby gemstone is fitting because a ruby traditionally represents devotion. Giving the perfect card is saying that you are devoted to the person on his or her special day. It is also said that a ruby represents the sun. So for the honoree when the sun rises, the birthday begins! Rubies are the scarcest of all gemstones and are very valuable. In size they are less than all other gemstones. It is the sentiment and not the size of the card that matters.
Make A Card With a Birthday Poem!
One of the favorites for young children are handmade birthday cards - you will treasure these! Follow these simple steps for a home-made perfect birthday card.
SUPPLIES: Card stock, glitter, yarn, glue stick, spray glue, felt pens, construction paper and scissors. Collect photos of family and friends, pictures from magazines, or ink stamps.
BASE: Most stationary stores have card stock paper and it comes in small packets! Select parchment or a pastel color as the base.
SIZE: Fold the paper in half top to bottom for large cards and fold again for smaller card. Cards can be made to open vertically or horizontally.
THEME: Use tracing techniques or outlining technique on construction paper for your theme. For example, cut out the silhouette of a dog, place it on the construction paper and trace around the silhouette. Repeat several times for multiple dogs in multiple colors. Cut out the dogs and arrange them on the card front. Glue the dogs in place.

PICTURE INSIDE CARD: Select pictures and glue inside the card opposite from where the birthday message or poem will be place.
MESSAGE INSIDE THE CARD: Write your own personal message or poem on a separate piece of card stock and cut it to fit the inside of the card. Glue your message inside. If you need help...
